"‘glassy vision’ is a window into my changing understanding around my own gender based violence and visibility. Each piece is a point within a sphere that encompasses these experiences. Despite my initial intentions, ‘glassy vision’ has no narrative structure but instead reflects the senseless and sudden ways that episodes of violence and their associated feelings can occur.
At the core of this project is the feeling that my aspirations are coming up against a harsh reality. Being present in that reality is difficult and often forces me to be less present within myself. However, the final chords sing a song of healing that I must hold onto if I am to survive."
Taft Cornerz is a cassette series publishing new work from some of our favorite Burlington, VT experimental artists. The idea is to invite friends and neighbors in our corner of the Burlington underground to contribute to a heterogenous kind of group critique. Who are we critiquing? What are we questioning? What is our view? U gotta hear ‘em all to find out, and we are all as clueless as you are! CORNERZ is our small contribution to the Burlington theater of this world’s endless culture war.
